I Was called upon to serve in the Schleswig-Holstein war and was drilled in Copenhagen for about six weeks and then sent to join the 3rd Company of the 11th Battalion which was then at Schleswig. That I served in the war till the month of February one thousand eight hundred and fiftyone when we arrived home. That during part of the time I served in the war as aforresaid. I was Under Corporal. That the name Niels Bertel Nicolaisen registered in the war office is intended for my name but the second name "Bertel" is an error and should have been Berndt That ther was no such person as Niels Bertel Nicolaisen in the 11th Battalion at that time. Declared at Clunes in the Colony of Victoria this thirty first day of October One thousand eight hundred and eighty five N.B. Nicolaisen |
