Main text	intelligence which made it probable that captain Schønheyder would complete his business there prior to the arrival of Rosenørn, the decision was changed and accordingly, Rosenørn remains here. – Second lieutenant Aschehoug arrived on the the 1st, instant, with the additional portion of lieutenant Rosenørn’s crews.- First lieutenant Blom arrived with 14 men of his crew on the 27th, instant. Certainly, according to the order of the Royal Admiralty and Board of Commerce, these crews should be stationed onboard the brig Bornholm, but this is not doable on account of, not only the illness which easily arises when crews are closely packed together in this climate, but further for lack of room. I have, therefore, made the following provisions. 15 men have been put onboard the brig Bornholm; 15 men have been put onboard a schooner here in the harbor, which I have leased for 8 Johannesses for the entire time, and the rest will be put onboard a merchant vessel commanded by first lieutenant Dahlerup for either a nominal fee or no fee.- Second lieutenant a la suite Adam Gottlob, count of Moltke arrived on the 20th, instant, and is employed at 1st company.- Second lieutenant Jørgen Laurentzius Michaelsen arrived the 27th, instant, and is employed at 2nd company.- Second lieutenant L. Kruse is employed at 2nd and baron Wm. De Bretton at 1st company.-

Main text	I hereby have the honor most humbly to forward a copy of a correspondence which occurred between Your Majesty’s Chamber of Customs and Board of Commerce and myself on the occasion of the proposal the commandant on St Thomas, chamberlain v. Holten made to this board dated the 23rd of May, 1816 regarding the detachment on St. Jan.- I dare, most humbly to recommend for your Majesty’s supreme attention to the wish I have uttered in this matter, which is not born of a desire to have a greater number under my command but of the conviction that the security of Your Majesty’s lands demands a force which, well employed at the onset, can smother insubordination and disorder.-
